South Sudanese Military Police arrested Elias Waya Nyipuoch, former governor of Wau state, on the morning of 26 June. For more than three months, he has remained in detention at the Giyada military barracks in the capital Juba without charge or trial.

He is currently in police custody on the Greek island of Lesvos.
